Allman Brothers Tickets

Southern rock, as it came to be known, was a prominent force in the 1970s and
1980s. The Allman Brothers band was at the forefront of the sound, blending blues,
country music and rock together. They were always well respected for their
musicianship and have won numerous awards and accolades. Despite lineup changes
caused by tragedies, conflict and drug abuse, the band continues today and Allman
Brothers tickets are much sought after.

The original band members hailed form Macon, Georgia and formed in 1969. Brothers
Duane and Gregg Allman and four friends put the band together, influencing a whole
generation of Southern musicians. Their recording success was matched by their
growing reputation as a live band. The band has broken up and reformed over the
years and the current line up is embarking on a tour across several states in America.
Their reputation for putting on a great show still stands and Allman Brothers tickets
sell as quickly as they ever did.

The concert dates during Summer of 2007 include venues in Rhode Island, New
Hampshire, New York State, North Carolina, Virginia and Minnesota. Fans from the
early days will mingle with younger people who have discovered their music. Older
fans may have fond memories of classic gigs from the past such as the 1971
appearance at the famous Fillmore East. This was the place for bands to be seen in
that era and a live album was recorded from the performance. These Allman Brothers
tickets were like gold dust as the band was the last to play before the venue was
closed.

Another famous gig was at the outdoor festival at Watkins Glen in New York State in
1973. The band were at the peak of their powers and their joint appearance with
good friends, the Grateful Dead, drew an attendance of 600,000 people. On New
Year's Eve of that year, fans got the chance to hear the Allman's in concert on national
radio. The broadcast came from the Cow Palace in San Francisco and the band
jammed with Boz Scaggs and with Jerry Garcia from Grateful Dead.

It is remarkable that the band has revived, given the difficult history. Two original
members died in separate motorcycle accidents. Duane Allman was killed in 1971 and
bassist, Berry Oakley was killed a year later. Lamar Williams died in 1983 from lung
cancer and Allen Woody died in 2000, cause of death was undisclosed. Despite the
troubled times, Allman Brothers tickets remain hot property, particularly for the 20th
Anniversary Tour in 1990.
