There are several different types of crappie jigs you want to purchase. And yes size does mater when making the selection. I recommend you purchase only 1/64oz and 1/32oz size jigs. you can buy jigs seperate or you can buy jigs with plastics. When you are fist starting I recommend you purchase jigs already assembled as shown. look for curly tails, that have the jig heads already painted. Jigs with a eye painted on them are a good selection.

The Next thing you will want to do is slide the line through the crappie bobber the round end first. Slide the boober up the line about 13 inches. Next Slide one of your jigs up the line about just below the bobber, then tie it in place. Now tie another jig on the end of the line. You can vary this set up. If the distance shown doesn't work remove one jig and adust the bobber down. now you are all set to go fishing.
